The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 13

Hello again from the Gregory Legacy! This will be the last time with Aaron's face on the cover, as a new heir/ess is crowned this chapter! Last chapter saw a new house built, the twins grown into children, and a little girl born to Aaron and Dayna, as well as the start of a third and final pregnancy for Dayna. Meanwhile, Nathan and Marjorie's clocks are ticking down and they're each trying to finish a second aspiration. Let's check in with the family . . .

Nathan and Aaron teach the boys to do their homework, which they actually manage to do in the focus room this time, which means it gets done quicker.

"Hi! I just want to introduce myself. I am Liam, and I am definitely not an evil mastermind in training."
"Oh, well . . . that's reassuring, I guess."

Evil Liam's social butterfly trials are beginning. Like many villains, he's actually kind of charismatic.

Nathan is sick again, and he has to pee really bad, so sucks to be him, I guess. He was out of most of the last chapter because he's been just working on his garden and puttering around. All he needs to be a Freelance Botanist is a cowplant, and I committed to the laborious process of splicing to get one, without realizing just how laborious it would be. The actual splicing isn't hard, of course, but you have to wait several days for each plant to mature before you can get the fruit you need for the next one. It's kind of frustrating, especially since Nathan has basically no time left at this point and I'm pretty sure he's not going to make it.

Natalie spots Aaron during his workout. She's a pretty helpful ghost, though it's been a while since she's painted us a masterpiece overnight, hint hint.

She even changed Laurel's diaper before Nathan could even make it to the room! Now that's helpful!

Dayna is having kind of a rough time with her final pregnancy. On another note, the puke animation in Sims 4 is so gross! It's a total trainwreck in the sense that I always take a picture of it despite it disgusting me. For Dayna, being pregnant is bad enough, but having morning sickness is just the cherry on top.

In other child-hating news, the dollhouse lasted two whole days without being torn down by somebody. Sigh.

Laurel's birthday has arrived! Let's take a look at her. First order of business is to change the turtle hoodie. That's already one of Luke's signature looks.

Here is Laurel! I later added a necklace after I took this picture and forgot to take another picture. She's a great blend of Aaron and Dayna and is cute as a button! She is a Rambunctious Scamp like Luke, but her trait is creative. I almost did a double-take when I rolled a positive trait. How bizarre! All in all, I'm kind of in love with Laurel.

She's so adorable that Marjorie couldn't help but rush over to hug her despite the fact that being in Laurel's presence makes her mad.

Marjorie is doing a lot of surprising things recently, though. She tried yoga down in the home gym, and I realized that, after all these sim years, she's been sneaking bright yellow striped socks under her black and grey workout outfit. That made me crack up. It's just so anomalous with the rest of her style. I guess when I dressed her I never noticed that she had socks on.

Laurel ventures out of the house shortly thereafter to spend some quality time with her brothers. First, the two rambunctious scamps play on the monkey bars.

"We could dominate it all with you by my side, sis. What do you say?"
"Yeah . . . no."

Then she socializes with Liam, who is raising his social skill with any available sim.

So, Nathan finally got a cowberry. Maybe this could still happen after all? It all depends on how fast a cowplant grows.

In other aspiration news, Dayna completed another masterpiece to become a Painter Extraordinaire, her first aspiration. Being a perfectionist actually helped with the masterpiece portion of the aspiration, because even though she takes forever to paint, she's always made very high quality paintings, and with the creative visionary trait, she paints more masterpieces than not. She now wants to be a Bestselling Author to continue the creative theme.

Afwsadfshdg!!!! The little cowplant is so cute! It's really freaking adorable. Now grow little one, grow. Your maker has little time left. Can you do it? Let's find out!

"Hey babe. Mmm, your hair tastes good today. I just wanted to let you know that I've always loved you, ever since we witnessed that kitchen fire together. We've been through some ups and downs, but I'm glad we've been through them together."

"Son, I'm so proud of you. You're a great father and you're going to make a great astronaut if they ever let you up in space. Keep up the good work."

Nathan appears to have only one day left, so I had him make the rounds and say his goodbyes. Everything in the house is fully upgraded and the garden is in good shape, so his affairs are in order.

This is what passes for a family dinner in the Gregory household. I still can rarely get everyone to the table, and sometimes, even if they do eat together, they prefer to just stand up in the corner of the kitchen. I don't even know.

"Mr. Landgraab, Mr. Kim, welcome to this meeting of the Liam is an Awesome Overlord Society. You may perform your induction groveling now."

"See, Mr. Kim? That's how you do it. That's good, Mr. Landgraab. You may kiss my feet now."

Liam takes an interesting approach to being a social butterfly.

Just a little compare and contrast of how Dayna and Aaron react to being surrounded by their children. Dayna, already tense from her pregnancy, looks like she is just barely holding it together. Aaron smiles contentedly. Two very different approaches to parenting.

Aaron is a really good dad. He actually has a fair amount of free time because his main duties are cooking and going to work, and he likes to spend it with his kids. He made good friends with all three of them really quickly, some of them when they were babies.

"Nailed it."

Dayna is trying to learn gardening because someone's going to have to take care of that obnoxious big-ass garden and mini cowplant now that the game has informed me Nathan's time is just about up. It's . . . not going so well at first.

The next morning, Nathan's time has indeed come, and Marjorie managed to wake up for it just in time. It was so sad. I never get used to my sims dying.

"Who's responsible for this? Grim? I'm coming for you!"

Look at that face! I'd book it if I were you, Grim. He did, too. He didn't hang around long at all.

Marjorie copes in the only way she knows how.

I learned something new about Sims 4. Apparently, adding to my list of hates children and hot-headed, evil sims will also randomly destroy the dollhouse. It literally had just gotten fixed from the previous picture.

"You can't just go destroying dollhouses, Liam. That's not acceptable!"
"Whoa! But, Grandma, you do it all the time."
"That's different."
"I fail to see . . ."
"Shut up."

Marjorie may have been an okay mom but she sucks as a grandparent. She's always yelling at or insulting the kids, and they don't have the best of relationships. The main reason she's still working is that it gets her out of the house and out of my hair for most of the evening on the days she does work.

While trying to keep up with what is now her garden, Dayna realizes the baby is coming.

"Hey there, little one. We're ready for you. Come on out."
"Gently."
"Yeah, gently."

Welcome to baby Leo! Leo is named for my favorite spouse from my completed Sims 2 legacy, The Vermachtnis Legacy, although they look almost nothing alike. I just wanted another L name and I loved Leo the Sims 2 version, so that's what I picked. Leo finally has his mom's skintone, it looks like. Aaron is just pleased to be welcoming another to the brood. You can see that I'm slowly decorating rooms one by one, so some of the pictures should have less empty space in them. When I feel happy with it, I'll do a little tour.

Anyway, Aaron is delighted to have another little son and gives him all the cuddles.

Marjorie, who already had a widowed moodlet and a 'witnessed death' one, decided randomly to go out and mourn her mother, resulting in the strongest sad mood I've ever seen. This lady was majorly down, and there's not much I can do about it at the moment.

"Well, guys, my first act as heiress . . ."
"Wait, Laurel. You're the heiress?"
"Yeah! Now that Leo's here, she rolled, and I got chosen! Fitting for the one girl in a generation of boys to lead, eh?"
"I don't know about . . ."
"Anyway, my first act as heiress is to say we should go to the park!"
"Okay, that I can get behind!"

I'm super psyched that Laurel is going to be heiress. Knowing my luck, she'll probably roll some awful traits on her upcoming birthdays, but for now, she's a model heiress and just too cute.

The main reason they're at the park is so Liam can meet three children not related to him to make friends with. He's almost done with his aspiration. Amusingly, it is taking a lot less time than rambunctious scamp, even though people usually dread this one. Our two rambunctious scamps work on their motor skill in the mean time.

I have so many pictures of group selfies, but I spare you guys most of them. I just think they're sweet, so I always end up taking pictures of them if I notice them. Liam and Laurel are actually closer, but while Liam was dominating the playground, Luke and Laurel got to know each other better.

And Liam has completed his social butterfly aspiration! His next one is whiz kid.

The kids are exhausted, hungry, and had to pee by that point. They used the bathrooms at the park, then ate a meal of hot dogs that a park hobo left behind while Luke tells a dramatic story, definitely channeling his also-insane father and grandmother with his facial expressions. No one does dramatic like an insane sim.

When they head home, I load up the lot to find Marjorie cuddling Leo. Ha! Caught you!

The kids are wiped out, but they made it home safely. Liam finished his first aspiration and Luke and Laurel made great progress on theirs as well. Sounds like a useful trip to me. While they crawl off to bed, it's time for me to bid you all adieu once again, for we have come to another end of a chapter. Next chapter will be Laurel's first time on the cover, we'll see Leo grow up, and maybe we'll get to see some fun with the cowplant or something. I'm continuing to work on the house, so that tour I keep threatening you with may happen next chapter as well. Thanks for reading, and check in with me at SiMania or Boolprop! <3
