Hello, hello, hello! Believe it or not, as I write this, the legacy is over: I have played all the way to the end. But we have quite a few chapters before we get there because we still have all of Simon's adult life to go plus the rather eventful time of the gen. 9 heir. We ended at Simon's college graduation after four years of "Juiced Community"-influenced dormies, Simon's pursuits both musical and nerdy, wooing of and proposal to Chloe (formerly Chloe Hayden), and some misunderstandings between the couple involving the generally rowdy social life of being a Gregory spouse that culminated in them eloping while Simon was still in college. Now we are all ready to return home with Simon to Gregory Manor, so let's jump in . . .

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 55

 

Well, it's been a little while, but I've played Simon's college years and I'm here to catch you up on them! When we left off, the various spares and extras were situated in their new lives, and Simon had left for college. After an awkward encounter at Simon's birthday, he's now looking forward to picking up with Chloe again and getting the relationship off to a better start. He's got four years of uni to go to become an esteemed judge, making the world a fairer place, and he's also working on Musical Genius. Celeste and Eleanor are aging-off at the ancestral home until he gets back. That's pretty much that, and this chapter is a bit longer so we can get through college, so let's dive in...

I'm trying to get all caught up so I can move on with a joint legacy turn without forgetting everything that happened in this massive backlog of pics. The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 52

Hello, hello! Guess who opened up her screenshots folder to find 500+ pics waiting to be turned into chapters? This procrastinator right here, of course. So let's dive in. We left the Gregorys off having recently celebrated Harvestfest. Shrimpy heir Simon (seen above) is the oldest of five - also including rainbow sherbet vampire Rowan and the triplets (not a band name btw), plus there's their two much younger accidental alien aunts. We've also still got Celeste and Eleanor (gen. 6 and 7 matriarchs, respectively), family friend Kenzie, and, inexplicably, spouse Andres from gen. 5, who refuses to die. Okay, all caught up? Let's see what's going on . . .

Hello, hello! Welcome back to this episodic saga of madness that I call The Gregory Legacy. I've been trying to power through the special difficulty of this generation (generations? I mean, the aliens are technically gen. 7 but the kiddos are gen. 8. Oh, my head...) and get to my next plans for Simon to start his life with (yes, I finally figured out what to do with him besides the usual). Let's jump right in...

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 50 (!!!)

 Hey there! For once, I actually have mostly fairly recent gameplay to share. The very beginning is old, but the rest I've played recently. The reason? Haleigh (MeadowThayer) is playing her butt off in quarantine and reading all her stories is putting me in a sims frame of mind. :)

I wish I could say I did something fun for our 50th chapter of this legacy, but I did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Still, congrats to me for making it this far and to you for sticking with me through all of the long pauses and unintentional hiatuses. We're going to see this legacy through! And on that note, objectively we don't have super long as the last of the gen. 8 spawn became kids at the end of the last chapter and eldest Simon (above) is the heir. However, we know my pace of writing and playing. Oh, we know... Anyway! Things were kind of crazy with the addition of Raf's alien daughter Stella bringing us up to 11, so let's check in and see what's up at Gregory Manor...

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 49

Uh...I'm back. For now. No promises while I'm in school, unfortunately, but thanks to *gestures widely* all of this going on now, I have some time! So Gregorys it is. This is our first chapter with Simon on the cover. Hurray for the gen. 8 heir! Just think: the birth of his grandchild will end the legacy! So that should only take me five years or so. >:(

Anyway, let's see. Where did we leave off? Simon is the oldest of five, children of three different fathers but the same mother, our gen. 7 heiress Eleanor. Middle child Rowan and the triplets (Alison, Logan, and Jason) are all dead weight as far as continuing the legacy goes, so we gotta grow 'em up and ship 'em out. Meanwhile, Simon will need to grow into our handsome and meticulously-groomed prince, Eleanor will continue working in archaeology, her parents Celeste and Rafael will do...stuff, and her grandfather (Simon's great-grandfather), the inimitable former bodybuilder and current master chef, Andres, will just keep the awesome coming. Not to mention our sweet ball of fluff, Nova the Simstagram star and Eleanor's best friend and housemate, Kenzie. So that makes ten sims and one dog in the house currently. Whew! Guess I better chip away at it. Dive on in...

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 48

Ooooooookay! Let's get a move on before school starts and I have no time. When we left off, heiress Eleanor had rekindled her romance with her first boyfriend (Owen) after having two boys, each with a different deadbeat dad, and eschewing the married life to move in her best friend, Kenzie. She abandoned social media for the promise of archaeology. And when we finished, she had just gotten pregnant for the third and final time of this generation, the first pregnancy she's planned for. The boys are growing up and they're going to have another sibling join them soon, and the house is hopping with sims since we've got three elders, two young adults, one dog, two toddlers, and one pregnancy. If you notice the problem with that, congrats! You are better at counting than I was at the time I played this! Here's your prize: jump on in . . .

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 47

An important trait in an heiress is the ability to take flattering and interesting photos.

Hmm. Maybe there's a reason Eleanor isn't succeeding at social media.

Anyway, we left off with a gen. 8 toddler, Simon, and a baby on the way, neither of whose fathers are in the picture, but we do have unflirty Kenzie around to help out, along with the elder three members of the Gregory family. Let's see where we left them . . .

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 46

Okay, okay, okay. Hopefully we're on a roll. Let's see when I can finish this. I've got this plus two more chapters completely laid out but not written. When we left off, Eleanor was having a crisis of direction (as many young people do) but she had a brand-new son, Simon, to look out for too. He's been left in the care of his grandmother and godmother while Eleanor heads to Selvadorada to follow her passion for archaeology (and maybe a passion for something -- or someone -- else?). She hopes to find herself there, so let's see what she does find . . .

(Just as a warning, there is skinny dipping, so there are some un-mosaic-ed sim butts in here, but nothing worse. Just in case you're reading in public!)

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 45

Well hello, hello. School's out, so that makes it writing season once again. I didn't mean to be so dramatic about it, but we've left Eleanor in the lurch a bit for . . . (checks) . . . a few months shy of a whole year. Whoops. Anyway, that cliffhanger was that Eleanor got pregnant during her young adult birthday, and when she confronted the father (Kaiden), he balked. We're going to pick up right where we left off, with the tension in the kitchen so thick you could cut it with the same knife used on the birthday cake . . .

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 44

Hi lovelies! It's been a while because I've been under the weather, but my project to catch up with my play continues. Last time we saw Eleanor, Eileen, and Taylor explore Selvadorada, where heiress Eleanor caught the exploring bug, but resignedly came home to try to finish her Serial Romancer aspiration and allow her mother to tether our ghosts to the mortal plane for a while yet. This chapter we'll see Eleanor finally become an adult, and plenty of fun along the way, so read on . . .

Welcome to the long-awaited Jungle Adventures chapter. Awaited by whom? Me, at least! Maybe you too. Let's find out. Last chapter saw teenage heiress Eleanor working on her Serial Romantic aspiration, younger sis Taylor and Simstagram-star puppy Nova both growing into their next life stages, and finally the girls shipped off to Selvadorada for an exciting cliffhanger a meek teaser. And that's where we'll pick up today . . . 

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 42

Hi again! Here we are with another Gregory chapter, with the girls creeping closer to adulthood all the time. Last chapter saw heiress Eleanor and her twin Eileen reach their teen years. Eleanor gained a boyfriend but Eileen struck out with her childhood crush (for now). We also adopted a bocker puppy named Nova (shown here spoiler-y as an adult), and Eleanor got a taste of the social media rush through Simstagramming her pup. By the way, in case you didn't know, as I didn't, a bocker is a cocker spaniel crossed with a beagle. I've had beagles and met cocker spaniels, and oof, that sounds like a cute but difficult to train hybrid. Luckily Nova has a pretty easygoing personality that doesn't seem to reflect what the internet (always trust random pages you Google, right?) tells me bockers are like. Anyway, no hate on hybrids as I have a whoodle (Wheaton terrier + poodle) who has the intelligence of a poodle and the stubbornness of a terrier, which can make him an adorable hot mess at times too. Enough hybrid dog shop talk, though. Let's check in with the Gregory family . . .

Hello again! Welcome to a Gregory Legacy chapter where stuff actually happens, unlike last chapter, which was mostly Taylor and Eleanor bickering and the family playing around on an outing. This chapter we'll get a pet and teens, so we're going to make some progress. Read on . . .

The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 40

Sooooo . . . I haven't written anything new here in over half a year (not counting the housekeeping post as 'new'), but I haven't forgotten these guys. I've actually re-entered college at age 33 to finally finish my bachelor's, and it has been good, but incredibly busy and stressful, so I haven't had time to write or play much. Right now I'm on summer break though, so I'm hoping to do some catching up. Last time, on The Gregory Legacy: The twins became kids! (cheers) Faye killed Caleb! (villain music plays) Taylor tried unsuccessfully to starve to death! (wah wah) Beans were collected, but the magic tree failed to eat Raphael and take him off my hands. (mournful music) Sibling rivalry! Arguments! Voidcritters! (music quickens) And finally, the rivalry intensifies as Taylor becomes a child like her nemesis, our heiress Eleanor. (crescendo of drums) All this . . . on The Gregory Legacy! (theme song plays finally)

Oh, and also Jaron asked Andres on a date, so that happened. (collective gasps)

Anyway, let's leave the sound effects behind and see what trouble these dorks can get up to this time . . .

Good News! (Housekeeping)

Hello! All broken Photobucket pics have been fixed, so all chapters are readable once again. Yay! That only took forever. Still on the to-do list is moving chapters 2-6 over to blog format, but they are still accessible from the links in the Chapter List as Slideshares for now.

The Who's Who section is going to be obsolete soon (and its Photobucket pictures will not be fixed) because I am moving all of that info over to the family tree, which uses a wonderful site for Sims trees called The Plum Tree that allows a lot of detail. Highly recommended!
