The Gregory Legacy, Chapter 21

Ready for more Gregory goodness? . . . or something? You never know with this family. By the way, this is my favorite "cover page" I've ever had. Laurel and Aaron were both telling themselves stories at the same time in the same room, and making awesome faces and hand gestures. I kind of love my insane sims. A warning: we're going to spend a fair amount of time at The House for Wayward Spares II, but then we'll get back to the main house. Now let's move on to the chapter itself . . .

Laurel had just given birth to little Faye, the first child of generation five. Holy cow! How are we on five already? Actually, I know I'm not the quickest simmer, so it's probably more like, You're only on five already? However, it feels like it's gone quickly and I can't believe this legacy is about half over.

Laurel: "Can we get back to my family instead of your philosophical ramblings about time?"
Kori: "Why do we have a single, solitary soap dispenser and a basket of toiletries in the nursery? So weird."
Laurel: "Hey, wait! She's right! That is weird."

They're next to a blank stretch of counter and together represent a changing table. You know, pretending that we could take the babies anywhere to change them. Look, it's just décor. Let's move on.

The two new moms, once they had finished flirting and making out right after the birth of their first child, shower Faye with love. She is so adored by everyone in the house. Dayna even takes her out of the bassinet sometimes, and that's a good thing for them to build a little relationship before Dayna ignores Faye or gets angry at her for her entire childhood. Faye also starts the count of 1/4 grandkids for Aaron to fulfill his aspiration.

"I am hot stuff. Guess what brand-new YA just traded numbers with a random woman wearing a hat and purple and green shoes."

Um . . . you? That's actually Natalia, the maid from last chapter who Leo was chatting up. She's of the right age and the only non-Gregory Leo knows, so I think she'll do nicely. She was rather hard for him to establish a pink bar with as she kept running away. On reflection, maybe that should have been a sign.

With the flourish of a final word on her latest bestselling novel, Dayna has completed the Bestselling Author aspiration, her second. Since she seems to do well with creative things, I gave her Musical Genius for her third, but I'm not sure how hard I'll work on it now that she has completed two and there are soon going to be kids running about with their own aspirations to accomplish.

Leo moved out finally, in a break between pregnancies for the main couple, and I spent a little time at the House for Wayward Spares II. Leo invited Natalia over and tried to chat her up, but he was having a hard time getting the conversation out of the awkward range. I can't imagine why.

In fact, Leo was having kind of a hard time with Natalia in general. She didn't like accepting any higher-level romance socials from him, and was just kind of stubborn. I was able to get him to ask her to move in, and rather than work on the relationship, the first thing I did was get rid of her hat and very stupid shoes and give her some less severe hair. She's actually really gorgeous! These two would be such a wonderful, lovely couple if they would just talk to each other!

"Yeah . . . gonna keep jogging. No need to get involved in that mess!"

With Natalia in the driver's seat now that I had control of her, things went much more smoothly. I guess she just prefers being in control. They got their first kiss, and since they had been friends for a few days, I thought that after building up their pink bar, maybe the time was right for . . .

*cringe* It wasn't. The time was not right. Natalia shut Leo down hard. Once again, she won't accept interactions when Leo initiates, but she was happy to be all over him just a few minutes ago.

"Hey, Leo! Come back! We can still keep making out and stuff."

"I'm mortified and about to pee myself. Please excuse me."

Well, Natalia will come around eventually and is part of the household, so I decided to start the process of getting the spare boys married off. To refresh your memory, Liam is engaged to Olivia, and Luke is engaged to Nathalie, and yes it is confusing to have Nathalie and Natalia in the house, not to mention that the founder was Natalie. I keep writing the wrong name. I think I've gone back and gotten them all straightened out. Liam and Olivia are up first.

Nothing says 'a beautiful wedding pic' like the Sombrero of Shame in the background. You're welcome, you two.

Nathalie and Luke were up next. Luke is putty in Nathalie's hands. Congratulations!

And Luke has to stop in the middle of the ceremony to bat at invisible things. Nathalie looks super impressed. This house will never lack for amusement.

"So, Natalia, do all these weddings put any ideas in your head?"
"Actually . . ."

"Leo, will you be my husband?"
"Oh my god, yes! YES!"

Ha ha, he looks so surprised. This is all the same day so you'd think he'd be likely to turn her down if it was still "too soon" but Leo is so into this. He's ready. It was just Natalia that was being stubborn, but once she proposes, she's ready too.

And we got through an entire courtship and three weddings with no one inadvertently cheating on their significant others. That's a good day in a spares' house for me. I think we'd best leave on a high note.

Back home . . .
"Yes! Leo's gone and we get to do it again!"

Oh my. These two are just all over each other from dawn till dusk. They technically are still pretty close to being newlyweds, so I guess it isn't that surprising, but still.

Actually, there seems to be a general romantic mood in the house. Aaron propositions Dayna as he is set to become an elder the next day, and she is only too happy to accept.

Back to the current couple, and Laurel is pregnant again! At least the fertile trait is good for one thing, but I'd still like to see some multiples.

"Kori! Guess what! I'm pregnant again!"
"What?! We still have a baby! Is this really a good idea so soon?"

Kori was less happy this time around to hear the big news, but she warmed up to the idea. It is awfully soon, but Aaron needs those four grandkids, and we in legacy houses are often beholden to those aspirations.

The ghost of Nathan is awfully embarrassed, and Laurel had the moodlet too, though it was overshadowed by the glow of having a new baby and being pregnant again. I figured he probably walked in on her while she was taking her pregnancy test, but that's really no excuse for climbing out on the roof. He wouldn't come back, either, just standing there fidgeting and idling.

Laurel was able to call him over and that broke the spell, although now he's gone from embarrassed to sad. Laurel, meanwhile, is just queasy. This girl has the worst morning sickness from the moment she finds out she's pregnant.

And if it's not fighting her tummy, it's fighting off invisible attackers. I'm sure that's a very good influence on little Faye there.

Aaron's birthday is kind of attended by the family. Even after preparing for it a bit, I almost missed it because I forgot, so he had a hasty morning birthday before everyone heads off to work or whatever it is they do all day. Nathan was still around too. That's how early this is.

Aaron makes a great elder! I considered changing him to more 'respectable' clothes, but the crab shirt is just so him. I did let him roll his pants cuffs down a bit, so he's just wearing regular jeans now. I figured the cropped look was a little much on an elder. Okay, now let's see if we can get three more babies before he kicks it! It may require a potion, but I'm okay with that.

Faye grew up in not terrible clothes and hair.

I kept the hair and changed the clothes. Faye is a rambunctious scamp, and I think she's very interesting in her looks. I'm glad she got Kori's eyes. You have no idea how sick I am of the medium brown eyes that we've had in the legacy ever since the second generation. They come from Jaron and they just. would. not. go. away. So maybe this is the generation that we'll see a green-eyed heir or heiress.

Faye: "Grandpa, you suck at teaching homework. I'm surprised you got out of elementary."
Laurel: "Faye! How dare you-"
Faye: "Can it, Mom. Your pregnant brain is gonna be no help either. I'll just do it myself. Bunch of incompetents in this house."
Aaron: "But I did graduate elementary . . ."

Oh, did I mention Faye is mean? What a joy this trait is. I've had evil sims before that sometimes say mean or mischievous things, but nearly everything that autonomously comes out of Faye's mouth is mean. From the moment she started interacting with her family, she was snapping at them, much to their dismay.

Faye: "I'm going to go hit a teddy bear. Later, losers!"
Aaron: "I don't understand where we went wrong."
Laurel: "If I weren't pregnant, I would so be spiking this coffee right now!"

Kori and Dayna both return from work with promotions. Dayna is moving up the author branch, and Kori is down in the low levels of secret agent. This may have been her promotion to Agent Handler, but I don't remember quite. Anyway, the spouses are doing quite well for themselves.

Faye is so excited her family is home. Geez, this kid is awful, but the faces she pulls are pretty amazing.

And Faye sets right in to her other mom from the moment she enters the kitchen. After this, I tried to keep Faye out of conversations unless I was directing her, and her social often got quite low, but she was destroying her relationships on her first day out of the bassinet! I think mean might be my least favorite trait I've seen so far, and that's even considering 'hates children'!

"What better way to distract myself from my devil spawn than with an aspiration-related house party?"

Kori invited everyone she knows reasonably well, including simRoxy and simJ, who actually came. Since the last few parties I've thrown have been duds, I was happy to see a good turnout for this one.

simRoxy: "Judah, I swear to god, if you don't stop looking at me like that in your flirty suit with your hand perilously close to your crotch, I will grab one of Aaron's chicken breasts and slap you with it."
Aaron: "Not my chicken!"

So, the party is going well so far.

I hired Luke as the caterer, since it gave me the option, then promptly forgot and set Aaron to preparing chicken stir fry. Luke was baking a cake, but he had to wait for the oven. Judah ignored both options and raided our fridge for some grilled cheese. A+ party guest there.

simRoxy: "Ladies, we need to talk about our party wear. Laurel, I like your dress for some reason. Kori, you're the hostess. The least you could do is change into party wear. And Dayna, for the love of god, why would you choose that over your party wear 1 option?"
Dayna: "It's not my fault the controller set her preferred costumes for the spooky parties as party wear and never removed them."
simRoxy: "Yeah, but that doesn't mean you have to wear it!"

simJ ignored the rest of the guests and played Blicblock for the whole time she was there, at least until there was cake to be had. A+ party guest, again. Real J says this is true to life, though. She's proud of her simself's antisocial ways.

So a pregnant woman and a child walk up to a bar . . . seems legit.

By the time Luke's cake was ready, the guests were called to congregate for the meal, and we started to finally get something that looked like an actual party. But where is the hostess?

Searching the intelligence database for work, of course. Where else would she be? Enjoying the party? Pfft. Kori did nab a gold medal for her party, which doesn't really matter at this level, but she did get a notch in her party belt, and we've started on this aspiration. Will I like parties by the end of it? We'll have to see. However, we've reached the end of the chapter so there will be no more parties in this post, although rest assured there are plenty more coming up in the future, as well as more little Gregorys and more meanness from Faye. Thanks for reading, and please come hang out with me at SiMania and Boolprop! Ta!
